Students

Law schools are a natural place for CLAIHR activities to take place. Many students have arrived with an interest in international human rights, and are looking for a way to pursue those interests. Since the first CLAIHR student club began in 1998, law students involved in CLAIHR have developed interesting and worthwhile projects. Their activities have been diverse, including: tailoring research paper assignments to fit into a CLAIHR project, developing a partnership with a Sierra Leone legal clinic to create a summer internship program which will send Canadian law students to work in Sierra Leone, assisting a constitutional lawyer in Kenya conduct research for monitoring truth and reconciliation discussions, and pushing for international human rights issues to be taken into account on Parliament Hill.
