Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR), federally incorporated in 1992, is a non-governmental charitable organization comprised of lawyers, law students and legal academics, among others, working to promote international human rights within and in connection to Canada.

CLAIHR works to promote international human rights by:

  • Serving as a Friend of the Court in court proceedings where questions of international law are being considered;
  • Promoting international human rights education;
  • Collaborating with groups dedicated to human rights; and
  • Hosting events on international law and related topics.
